Karachi – City of lights from Space

Recently a photo was published on Nasa’s earth observatory website. The unique thing about this photo was that it shows one of the few places on Earth where an international boundary can be seen at night. It is the winding border between Pakistan and India which is lit by security lights that have a distinct orange tone visible form space.

Another remarkable thing about this picture is that it tells us why Karachi is called the city of lights. The port city of Karachi is the bright cluster of lights facing the Arabian Sea.
