Pakistani Movies to watch this fall

Atlast, our local cinema has started seeing the light of the day and is producing back to back quality films. Be it a small budgeted film or a high budgeted glitzy flick, our productions are finally getting consistent. And after years of Sultan Rahi’s macho man appearances and Saima and Meera’s dances on desi tunes, the Pakistani cinema is finally on the road to revival and producing urbane films.

While there have been effective movies like Waar, Bol and Khuda Kay Liye, there have been some less impressive ones like Jalaibee and Wrong No.

Here’s a list of 5 Pakistani movies to look forward to this Year

Ho Mann Jahan

Starring the gorgeous Mahira Khan with Shehriyar Munawwar and Adeel Hussian, Ho Mann Jahan is the next big thing in Pakistani cinema. The film directed by Asim Raza, follows the life of three college friends from distinct social backgrounds, all aspiring towards one combined goal: becoming musicians. The film features sound tracks by Atif Aslam, Zeb Bangash and Tina Sani. With the shooting wrapped up, Ho Mann Jahan was set to release on Eid ul Azha but has been pushed to a release in December to show support and encouragement to the rest of the movies

Jawani Phir Nahi Aani

Humayoun Saeed’s star studded Jawani Phir Nahi Aani garnered enough controversy with Hamza Ali Abbasi’s statements even before the release of its trailer. Shot in Bangkok, the film is scheduled to release this Eid ul Azha. YJPNA is star studded flick including Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahmad Ali Butt, Wasay Choudary and Mehwish Hayatt among the cast. The film will also include Omar Shareef and Javed Sheikh. YJPNA is another comedy-drama movie about the strangling roles of wives in the lives of their husbands.

Karachi se Lahore

Having bagged enough public eye for Ayesha Omer’s sizzling dance number, Karachi Se Lahore is running successfully in cinemas across the country. Directed by Wajahat Rauf, the film includes Javed Sheikh, Ayesha Omar and Yasir Hussain. The movie is being loved by audiences  1. For the impeccable acting by moti (Yasir Hussain) and the puns and jokes every now and then 2. The picturesque beauty of the country shot during the road trip and 3. For the sizzling numbers by Ayesha Omar and Mantaha.

Bin Roye

The gorgeous mahira khan and the never aging humayun saeed graced the screen with uber romance and class. Running successfully in cinemas, bin roye is pakistan’s first romantic flick and has certainly moved the audiences. Bin Roye is a romantic drama, based on an Urdu novel “Bin Roye Aansoo” by writer Farhat Ishtiaq. The film is directed by awarded  Haisam Hussain and also features Javed Sheikh and Zeba Bakhtiar.

Manto

Another Pakistani flick slate to release later in September, manto has all the star cast one could think of : Mahira Khan, Sania Saeed, Sarmad Sultan Khoosat, Faisal Qureshi, Irfan Khoosat, Savera Nadeem, Shamoon Abbasi, Saba Qamar and many others. The movie is a biographical flick on the life of popular writer Saadat Hassan Manto.
